Jenna Cole Photography-Dallas, TX bio picture

Welcome to Jenna Cole!

Investing in a camera and launching this business has given me the
chance to merge the two activities I love most, photography and blogging. After spending several months taking still life photos for my other blogging endeavors (That Bride, Weddingbee, and That Wife) I realized that I wanted to start spending time with people. I wanted to spend my days taking pictures of people that helped them to see how beautiful they are.

I want to capture the moments in your life as they are happening, as they would happen even if I wasn't there with you. When the light falls just right, and the boy and the girl look at each other just so, magic happens. I want to be there for that moment, composing an image that tells a story, your story.

You can read more about my personal life at That Wife, add me on Twitter, or find me on Facebook. Thank you for visiting and for commenting (I read them all and they make my day!).

As I prepare for the next big event in my life (the birth of my baby in April!), I'm going to be refocusing my business and sacling back on the number and type of sessions I am accepting. I'll be on maternity leave beginning in March and lasting through May. Please contact me if you have any questions!

Newborn: Eli

Little Eli is so tiny that his clothes don’t even fit right. I wish I looked as cute as he does with baggy clothes on.

Eli is 7 days old today. Already a charmer.

SOOC (Straight Out Of Camera) Shot!

Babies in picnic baskets look extra scrumptious.

SOOC

I added a little bit of antique tone, but now that I’m posting I’m starting to think I like it even better SOOC!

Diaper changes are quite common at newborn shoots (as is to be expected).

THAT SHOT!

I love the way he is sticking his little diaper-clad bum in the air.

Back in the basket he went, naked this time, and not happy about it.

A few minutes with the binky gave us a few seconds of calm.

Do you see that look? The tears are coming!

And there they are. Don’t worry my love, it’s all over now.

Thanks to Eli’s mom and dad for letting me play with their sweet little newborn for an hour today. He’s darling, and I think we got some really good shots in between all the tears. :)

March 4, 2009 - 11:05 pm Kelli Nicole - Haha, oh crying babies. I've definitely had my fair share of those! That's really good for your first try, I don't even want to think about my first newborn shoot (I remember trying to photograph naked newborn twins when I was like 19...it was not pretty!).

March 4, 2009 - 11:16 pm Kristin (Quiche) - Oh my goodness, I could eat him with a spoon. He is ADORABLE. Great shots, Avo!

March 5, 2009 - 7:25 am Mandy - how adorable! When I was born, pre-me clothes were even too big. I wore my sister's cabbage patch kids cloths for the first month of my existence!

March 5, 2009 - 9:41 am Ruby Slippers - Oh he's so tiny and wrinkly! Awwww. The one where he's wailing in the basket is so adorable - but why are his feet purple? Is that normal? (I've barely ever seen a newborn, so I really have no idea!) I think you got some great shots, especially since it must have been a bit stressful with him weeping all the time.

March 5, 2009 - 5:09 pm kaitlyn - Oh, again, precious. Amazing shots Jenna!

March 5, 2009 - 6:25 pm Lisa - Thanks so much again, Jenna, the pictures are adorable! I was wondering about the purple feet too, then I realized his feet are still ink-stained from his footprints being taken at the hospital! I hadn't even noticed before! :)

March 6, 2009 - 5:01 am Brandi - He's like an Easter present!! I love it!

March 8, 2009 - 12:38 am Emily A - LOVE your photo blog Jenna! Fantastic!

March 13, 2009 - 4:47 am Tenille - I am loving the newborn baby wrinkly skin. Great shots Jenna.

April 6, 2009 - 1:34 pm Kat - RocknRollBride - babies seriously scare me but omg how cute..great pix!
