Congratulations is in order for Draya and Jake, winners of the Wedding Redux contest! I’m really looking forward to developing the perfect session for them. They are finally going to have professional photos that they can look forward to showing to their family, friends, and maybe even one day their children. Look for the results from their session sometime this Fall!

Jessica and Carl had so many sincere comments from friends and family that I’ve decided to offer them a 50% discount on a Duet session and 25% off of any prints or products that they might order if they would be interested in booking with me. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to work with both couples in the future!
Sometimes a couple’s wedding photography experience doesn’t go as planned. Whether it’s due to an unprofessional professional, unmet expectations, or circumstances in life outside of everyone’s control, there are some couples out there who I think deserve a second chance at wall worthy portraits. After receiving far too many emails from brides unhappy with their wedding photos for one reason or another (or worse, brides who have almost no photos at all!) I’ve decided to hold a contest that will allow one lucky couple the chance to dress up and have another go at creating portraits that can be admired for years to come. I believe that everyone should have at least one photo (hopefully more though!) that they can show their grandchildren and say “See this picture? It’s one of my favorites because it shows just how beautiful and happy we were.”
Read below to find out the details on who can enter and how…

The Prize:
- 1 Duet Session with Jenna Cole, 1 disc of high resolution watermark free images with Basic Edits, and 1 print of your choice up to 16X20 in size.
- This session can be held in Dallas, TX (before August 2010) or Chicago, IL (after September 1st, 2010) free of charge, but I’m also willing to travel if the couple will cover my travel costs.
Who Can Enter:
- Any couple married after January 1st, 2005 who feel that they deserve a second chance at beautiful photos with the one they love most!
How To Enter:
- Send me an email explaining why, in 600 words or less, you should be the Wedding Redux Session winner.
- Please include at least 1, but no more than 5, photos from your wedding day. These photos will not be shown publicly, but they may be used as a determinant for deciding between two contestants. If you do not have any photos from your wedding day, please leave me a short note letting me know why.
- Please include one current photo of just you and your spouse to be posted on Jenna Cole Photography blog if you are a finalist.
- Email your entry to jenna {at} jennacole.com no later than May 31, 2010. Entries in the comment section below will not be eligible to win.
How The Winning Couple Will Be Chosen:
- All entries will be reviewed by me and a small panel of impartial judges. We’ll choose our two favorites and post their entries here on the blog. Readers will then vote to decide who will win the Wedding Redux session.
The Fine Print:
Session must take place before December 31st, 2010. I will travel up to 30 miles from my point of origin free of charge, travel fees will be applied if session is to be held outside of this radius. Though I would love to have the winning couple dress up all fancy in wedding attire it is certainly not required. We’ll work to custom design a session style and location that perfectly describes you as a couple.
If you know someone who you think deserves this prize, please help spread the word! I’m looking forward to reading all of the entries and working with the lucky couple!

Emily Hudspeth did the hair and makeup for my recent maternity session (pictures coming soon!), and I recently learned that Dallas area brides have the chance to win a free hair and makeup trial with her. Lucky you! If I were you, I would enter and then use the trial on the day of my bridal or engagement session (maybe your session with Jenna Cole?
) because I’ve seen Emily’s work in person, and experienced her skills for myself, and I”m positive you’re going to love when you end up with.

Visit this post on the blog of Sweet Pea Events to learn how to enter!
Last year I put out the word that I was looking to fund a trip to New York City with photography shoots, and because readers did such a fantastic job spreading the word I was able to meet Janie + Ryan and Josie + Florian and spend some time in the Big Apple!
I have a past client who has a few friends who would like to work with me down in Austin, and I’m wondering if anyone else in the Austin area might be interested in setting up a session with Jenna Cole sometime toward the end of February? I found this sunset in Dallas, but I’m betting Austin has them as well.

If you are interested, drop me an email: jenna {at} jennacole {dot} com
Tell me your availability and the type of session you’re interested in setting up and I”ll come down and make you look pretty.
