I’ve recently introduced something new into my shooting arsenal, a technique called Freelensing. Freelensing involves detaching the lens from the camera, which affects the focal plane and produces results similar to what a tilt-shift or Lensbaby might give you (though it’s a bit more unpredictable!). The month I’m spending living with my parents is providing me ample time to practice and I love the results I’m getting so far. I have more examples to post from this bridal session/wedding, but I’ll leave you with two examples.
On the left you see my original image, straight out of the camera. On the right is the black and white conversion I decided on.
I’m very much looking forward to incorporating this at portrait sessions and weddings from now on.
